BEFORE THEY GET IN TOUCH
What a customer checks before booking a decorator.
Decorating is judged on the finish, and the customer has to let you into their home for days at a time. A good decorator website shows the quality of the work and makes the practical side clear before anyone picks up the phone.
Is the finish good enough?
Sharp cutting-in, clean wallpaper joins, smooth woodwork. Customers zoom in on photos to check. Close-ups and before and after shots of your own rooms, staircases and exteriors do more than any description of your standards.
How will you price my job?
Some decorators quote per room, some per day, some a fixed price after a visit. Say which you use, what is included (preparation, materials, ceilings, woodwork) and whether you can give a rough figure from photos.
How will you treat my home?
Dust sheets, protecting floors and furniture, tidying at the end of each day, working around people living in the house. A short section on how you work answers the worry many customers have but rarely ask.
When can you fit me in?
Good decorators are often booked weeks ahead, and exterior work depends on the weather. Saying roughly how far ahead you book, and that exteriors are usually done from spring to autumn, sets expectations early.
A PAGE PLAN BUILT AROUND YOUR WORK
The pages a decorating website usually needs.
Your services decide the page plan. This is a typical starting point for a domestic decorating business that also takes some commercial work. We drop what you do not offer and add what you do.
- 01
Interior painting
Walls, ceilings, woodwork and staircases, with what your preparation involves and how a typical room or whole-house job runs.
- 02
Exterior painting
Render, masonry, fascias, windows and doors, the access you use and the time of year you schedule outside work.
- 03
Wallpapering and feature walls
Lining paper, patterned and specialist papers, murals and feature walls, with close-up photos of joins and pattern matching.
- 04
Kitchen and uPVC spraying
Kitchen cabinet resprays, uPVC windows, doors and conservatories, with how you mask up, what paint system you use and how long the finish takes to cure.
- 05
Commercial and end-of-tenancy work
Offices, shops, rental properties and void refreshes, including out-of-hours working and how landlords or agents can book.
- 06
Colour advice
If you help customers choose colours or finishes, say how that works and whether it is part of the quote.
- 07
How we price
Per room, per day or fixed quote, what is included, how materials are handled and any deposit arrangement, in plain language.
- 08
Gallery of recent work
Before and after photos grouped by room type, exterior and spraying, with a line on each about the job. This is often where customers decide.
- 09
Areas you cover
One clear coverage page with your towns and postcode districts, plus any different radius for commercial work.
A 20–30 page website, not a one-page template.Built around your services, real work and coverage, then connected to your enquiry tools.
